Hello!
I am the proud owner of 5 little ladies I picked up just about 3 weeks ago! I had been toying with having chickens for a few years now, but jumped in this summer. I managed to pick up a used wooden play fort, the two story kind with A-frame swings off to the side as well as tons of free materials from a home reno being done across the road. I rent a farm house in farm country in Delta, BC...where winter is pretty darn mild...just wet.
We are getting one or two eggs a day even though there is very little sunshine these days, it has been so rainy! I decided not to use light in their coop after reading about their laying cycle. They have a partially covered run with 6 inches of river sand and enjoy the juicing pulp and other veggie treats they get.
They sure are a hoot!
I made this album public (I hope) from my facebook page.... let me know if it doesn't work.
