Noisy BSL Hen-7 months old- help!

NEW FINDINGS:

So the weather has finally decided to turn nice- it was 60 degrees and sunny both Saturday and today so we decided to start building the girls their additional 60 sq ft of space in their new playground. In doing so- we learned something very interesting about Jolene. She was silent as we worked along side of her as she was in the coop/run. (we didn't let them out because there was lots of wet paint and tools since we were working) She was able to observe us all day from 6 am to about 2 pm. She was silent- not a peep, cluck or squawk! We thought this was very interesting, then at about 2 pm we needed to pack things up and head out to a party. As we were packing up and went inside she started to get restless and pace. While we got ready in the house she started screaming her head off at the top of her lungs for about a half hour. It was one of the worst episodes she had ever had- same thing happened again today. I am starting to think and wonder if she could be experiencing some sort of separation anxiety when we are leaving. Because remember- she is quiet when we are not here, she is quiet when we are with her and she is quiet when she cannot see us. Her episodes are not linked to treats (since that has stopped for almost 3-4 weeks now) So I am quite sure that this is it...

Any Thoughts?

UPDATE:

So we finally added an additional 60 square feet for our three girls- they now have a playground off of their run (36 sq ft) and coop (12 sq ft). We also fenced in an additional 100 sq ft of space off of that for them to run around in under dense, established boxwoods so they can be out in a protected area when we are home. I cannot tell you how lovely Jolene has been, she is like a new chicken. She is still chatty, curious and our star forager, but no longer paces, screams her head off and is stressed. My DH confided in me this weekend that she is his favorite

I am so happy that we were able to give her a bit more space so that her and the other girls could be happier (and now with this addition I can get some more chickens in the future!!)

I have attached some pics of the playground as well as a beautiful adirondack rocker that I found curbside!

THE END
