I am so frustrated

One of my distant neighbors passed away almost a year ago and yesterday i found out this the lat 3 that still lived there moved back to town back in August, i did not know they had moved till my DH told me he had not seen any cars there in a while when he passed by on his way to and from work anyhow they have/had a ton of cats there, just let them reproduce over and over and guess what they just left them when they moved

, i been having problems with cats in the fence row causing the peas to go off and the dogs come running chase the cat and hour later there will be another in the wood line darn peas got eyes like a hawk and they can see them cats 100 yards away, they got my poor dogs running their butts off and i am afraid the dogs will stop responding soon if this does not let up, .

Any suggestions would be helpful, i can't just trap them cause my dogs will tear the trap up to get to them at this point, snares are out and i have no desire to keep these cats cause honestly they are pretty mangy and upkeep as in no vaccinations, plus i believe most are pretty wild, there is no animal control out here so i am left to deal with them on my own,

Help

This is what some looked like before they moved imagine them now and there have to be 20 or more. photo was taken by the old owner of the place before he passed away

Do you have animal control there that you can report them as abandoned and they might help get them trapped and picked up?
No the law out here is SSS unless the animal bites someone then the police can be called .

Where they are coming from i can not shoot towards that area because there is a farm road behind that area, i have bad luck as it is it would be my luck i would hit a vehicle even threw the woods, heck took out the back window of a car passing by one time when i was setting my bush hog down after making a turning at the end of our road

Thank you for the ideas might work if i was in town

Sorry you have to deal with someone else's lack of pet responsibility...very aggravating!

Do you have any local animal control or animal services agency that might come and trap them for you?
Not sure if any of this will help, but:
This is in Beaumont: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX580.html
Maybe someone on this list could help? http://www.hoosierkitties.com/rescue/tx.htm
Here's some local advice but they don't seem to deal with cats: http://www.wildlife-removal.com/straycat.htm
I will look into these thank you for posting, can't trap them here but mabe i can get permission from someone to trap them at the house over there sense they left them behind.

First time in 35 years i have had a problem with them cats , now it is a big problem

First thing I would try is the Humane Society, they pick up lots of farm animals that are neglected. If that doesn't work there is a .22 ammunition called .22CB, I call them cat bullets but that is politically incorrect. They are a very quiet, reduced power, short range round good for short distance and very thin skinned prey, perfect for in town use. They don't cycle in automatic rifles so you will have to work the action or use a bolt or single shot rifle.

Guess i will get the tree stand out and bait an area where i can sneak off to away from the dogs and just pick them off cause some of these cats are really feral and ain't likely to be rehabbed if caught plus they look pretty sickly, i need this taken care of ASAP if nothing else mabe it will send the ones i miss in the opposite direction bad thing is is it is nothing but woods for a couple miles till it opens back up to the next farm road over

Flying lesson

Don't think it likes flying without a parachute but it did make a rather clean landing and get away. guess we will see if it comes back for another lesson so far 3 have not returned .

No animals were harmed or killed in these photos, it is better than what my dogs will do to them if they get a chance, they do not like trespassers just their own cats are allowed here.

Ain't nobody home remember, the hazing will work i think, what i am doing is every time the peas sound the alarm and make their way to where the cat is, i send the dogs and they are treeing the cats, then i call the dogs back and just fire off the roman candle, they turn into flying cats the very first pop and i send the dogs back now the cat has a head start so it will get away and the dogs stop at the fence, also i follow thew with overhead shots towards their destination (HOME)

the way i figure they will start associating peafowl to dogs coming and then banging sending them flying out of the trees
