Sounds like you have the idea so go for it and I am betting those who show will be first in line, I don't show but i know what it's like to try and pick up a goose and keep thsoe wings down at their sides.So I hope you can come up with something, be sure to post back here when you do we have many members who show and would be interested I am betting. We're looking more for something to cover and restrain the wings during transport and while in cages. Our birds are all show trained, but they're also free-ranged in coyote country and used to taking care of themselves--aka, taking out anything not a goose, sheep, and maybe or maybe not a Muscovy duck. Goose politics being what it is, transportation is a big hassle with the big ganders, and the young birds always think it's the end of the world to get stuffed into the back of a truck.
Ideally, the harness we're looking for would be able to support the weight of a full grown Jumbo Emden gander to assist in putting the bird in and out of the truck, and would restrain the wings to prevent damage to the wingtips, feathers, and anyone nearby. A grab or carry handle and a leash tab on the back would be imperative, as well as a neat, professional design that would present well to the public eye.
We're looking to possibly create our own, so anyone with suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!
