Little Giant 10300

Today I got the lg 10300. I also got the 6300 auto egg turner. I plan to start 3 dozen eggs saturday with local rir, buff orp, and buff brahma eggs.
 
I have a 9200 (old style- not digital adjustment) and I would definitely upgrade if people start saying the digital adjustment is easier to deal with than the knob.
 
We are going through some type of polar vortex thingy. My daytime and night time temps vary by almost 10 degrees f. This new bator is holding steady temps. I am very impressed with it. Stay tuned for candling
 
How did it go Bamadude? I put my first batch of eggs into my LG 10300 with egg turner today. I set it up about 36 hours ago and the temperature stabilized very quickly. I was also impressed that it has stabilized quite quickly to 99.1-99.5 degrees F after we put the eggs in. I'll keep an eye on it for about 48 hrs and will make adjustments at that point if needed. Did you find that the RH on the digital screen was fairly accurate?

I had a terrible hatch. 2 out of 35. I did eggtopsys and it seems my humidity was too high at lockdown. The humidity sensor on mine seems accurate. The temp is a few degrees off tho. I will be setting another batch on Dec 11 for the new years hatch a long

Yikes! Sorry it didn't turn out better. Did your eggtopsies show a high percentage with good development until lockdown? I will definitely keep a close eye on the humidity at lockdown.

I have a second digital thermometer with a sensor that snakes through one of the holes in the lid. I've been fairly impressed with how close the LG temp and second thermometer have been to each other. That's not the case with the humidity, however. The LG runs higher than the dial RH gauge I have in there. The instructions that came with the incubator did say something about the humidity reading being inaccurate below 55%, if I remember correctly.

I am following ChooksChicks Henthusiasts' Still Air Styrofoam Incubation Cheat Sheet article from BYC and we'll see how it goes. She suggests dry incubation until lockdown and monitoring air cell development. I've read elsewhere that this is ok as long as humidity is not below 25%. So far so good.
