There has been no bear activity in my yard since we finished the electric!
We found a "bear trail" when we were exploring some of the swampy parts of our property. And it appears that the bear is still active on his trail. but he has not ventured up onto the pasture area, and has not disturbed any of the animals at all.
I am shocked (see what I did there?) at how effective a simple electric hot wire set up is!!
In addition to the bear proofing, we are also using a double hot wire (one at 2", one at 10") to re-seed areas of the chicken runs. It keeps the chickens out for the requisite three weeks to get a nice crop of rye or oats ready for them!

haha nice one. Maybe not so nice in the winter weather although that may be balmy where you are!

I feel your pain. We had a bear problem real bad a few years back. I posted about it, and gave parts and prices we used to set up our electric.
I am happy to report that Mr Bear is still a frequent visitor (we sneak up on each other every few months), but he has not attempted even a single broach of the electric.
