Orange Tabby...He Stays and His Name is Finn (Update with Videos Dec 31)

Pics
Finn does some coughing from time to time, not every day, but a couple of nights ago he had a hacking, body wrenching fit that I think is due do a hairball. I mean, I have no idea what his history is, how many mice or squirrels he's eaten, so I think that's what it could be because he seems fine otherwise. So, I gave him a little mineral oil, a little butter and a tablespoon of squash puree for fiber mixed into his food, the recommended remedies for hairballs. His eyes are clear, no temp that I can tell. He is less prone to running around, sleeps more now, but that could be due to his male hormones lessening post-neuter.

Why would Finn want to run around anymore? He found a nice warm bed and a cozy fire to lay in front of. What more could a clever kitty want when it's cold outside?

One day he spent most all day curled up on my couch (with comforter on it as a barrier to cat hair). Good thing I was using my recliner, aka crochet chair, to do a project and didn't need my own couch. Cat Hater Hubby is the one who lets him in, not moi.

Here is the cat cave I tried to make (or the cave-in may be more appropriate). The pattern called for some stiffer stuff like t-shirt strips or that Zpaghetti yarn, but this is 3 strands held together with a hoop crocheted around, then stitched into the entrance. Cat can go inside to hide or even lay on top of the two layers.

Here is the hoop I stitched into the opening. It's wooden, crocheted around with 2 strands.

You really do nice work crocheting. Has Finn tried it out yet?

Oh, Finn doesn't get to try this one out. It's for the Humane Society's fundraiser in the spring. I've donated two beds for the shelter and will be making a few others for them and for the fundraiser to thank them for the help with Finn's medical stuff.

I put down one of the pet beds I had made for the HS where he likes to sit. He immediately crawled into it and went to sleep. That cat is pretty sure what I intended for him to do with it. Forgive the wood chips and trash-I just can't keep up with it, burning wood for heat. And I didn't want to scare him with the vacuum cleaner. (in case you've seen the Friskies commercial "Dear Kitten", I didn't want to "vacoooooom" because I have no curtains of invisibility for him to hide behind

See how hard Finn is working as a "test cat"? I think he should try out all your new cat projects!
