Just wand to introduce myself. My name is Diane. I'm a stay at home mom of three. I am unable to work due to health reasons (I have cystic fibrosis) so I've taken up the hobby of chickens :) My father has had chickens all my life so I've been around them for awhile now. I just recently within the last year started raising my own. I currently have three breeds: cream legbars, bielefelders, and polish chickens (black with white heads). Looking to add a few other breeds later on (I want the rare breeds lol, so it'll be awhile before I can afford those).

Welcome to BYC, Diane! Glad you decided to join our flock. Raising chickens is a great hobby and a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock and in, eventually, getting your rare breeds.
 
Thanks! My favorite is the polish ones..they just look cool to me :) We have hatched the cream legbar ones so far and my kids love watching them hatch. They help take care of them also, great experience for them.

Glad you joined the flock. Lovely birds there. Especially the polish, I have mainly polish and love them so funny and such characters.
Great to hear the kids help with them, chickens are great for getting them out in the fresh air. Good luck with your goal of rare breeds :frow
