Feeding apples a week before butchering

It is a failure!!!!!! :(
Ok not a complete failure, the chicken is good.. but no slightest taste of apple. No sweetness, nothing unusual.

Maybe apples don't have a taste strong enough for this use. Or maybe I didn't feed it long enough.

Oh well!

Here are my snow chickens! lol I let them rest 3 days and yesterday I froze some of them as full chickens, others as skinned full chickens and butchered the largest birds in breast, thighs, etc.
Of course I kept the carcasses to make a soup :) But they were overall, pretty small. I couldn't get much breast from most of them.

dont be too quick to call it a "failure"
after all, i think all those apples would still produce a nice "cleansing" or "finishing" effect on the flesh,
whether you could taste the apples or not!

Oh, I never thought of it this way :)

Maybe next year I can try mint, I have lots in the garden. I need to research the effects though, I know herbs can have medicinal effects.. wouldn't want to have a gang of stoners hanging out in the coop lol! Or to damage their liver or hurt them in any way!
