I screwed up a couple of times, mainly accidentally unplugging the incubator THREE times, but I had a fantastic hatch! I am doing the "I didnt screw up that bad dance" :yiipchick

Congrats everyone!!! I didn't hatch this time, but I'll hopefully be getting eggs by the Easter HAL!

I have been informed that there is only ONE egg left to hatch! I was super worried about all those saddle air cells, but it seems the carton method is fantastic.

I am up to 10 hatched from the 12 I set. only 2 marans eggs left. I'll update again tonight. No signs yet of hatching. Maybe I'll try the water test in a little while its cold in here right now in Sunny California30 degrees out here in the country. I'll ready for the summer heat..... Love the heat hate the cold....

That is great!

Cartons and big end up, slightly tilted to the big part of the saddle is important for shipped eggs.

Hatch day was supposed to be yesterday, maybe they are just running a little late, sigh. Im bummed for her.

If I don't have chicks by tomorrow Im not sure what to do.

You could give her more eggs... But if you let her sit longer you might want to give her some extra protein scrambled eggs are handy...

I thought about giving her more eggs but I don't know how tough it would be on her sitting through another entire incubation period. I feel bad for her. The isn't a great broody(at least not yet) She hasn't had very good luck. She is still young, she just turned 1 year old on NYD.

I had a very diligent Bantam broody who wouldn't give up so I gave her more eggs I just had to keep bringing her food lots of scrambled eggs she only managed hatch out one check but she got to have her baby... I think she sat a total of 44 days.
