My New Heated Waterer

This^^^ (7.5" diameter)
won't fit into this....4x4" bottle.
..and this cup will freeze even if you find a heater to fit.

I think it will be very difficult to find a heater for such a small vessel.
You may be stuck with having 2 waterers and swapping them out 2-3 times a day.
That's what I had to do with a winter broody, had a good place on top of boiler to thaw them.
Tip: a bowl of snow is good for a back up 'waterer'.
I used this holder and 2 bottles.

Used this one too, and explains hot to install HN's.

Ok. Got me thinking. See, it's not the swapping of the waterers in freezing temperatures that I'm concerned about. It's swapping it out of the area where Mr. Pecca Roo is hanging out!

So, if I'm understanding correctly you're saying the horizontal nipples won't freeze? Your waterer in the first link is inside with the birds and the attached nipples obviously remain attached when the bottle is removed and an identical one with attached nipples is replaced. So freezing nipples isn't quite the problem. (Oh lordy that sounded bad!)
Your second link has the bottle hung outside of the cage. Yes! That! But, of course I'm going to be attaching to 1/2 inch HC, not 1x2 wire. At least not for Roopecca. Fabulous idea for dog cage used for introductions or as a broody breaker. I WILL be using this idea! Soon. ;)

But Mr. Pecca Roo . :barnie
So how about this idea?

So you can't open cage to replace waterer because bird is too aggressive?

Yes, they will freeze without a heater, then need to be thawed.

I did once cut holes in HC for nipples the fit thru, needed a different holder tho.

I'd stay away from the cooler nipples...much trickier to install without leaks.

It would be good to start a new thread in the watering forum, explaining the situation and posting pics of the cage/enclosure. We can figure out something for your situation.

Yup. That's why he's in a bachelor pad.

Ok, that's what I thought. Np.

I think this is the way to go for this situation.

DANG!
This looked so promising.

Thanks for the feedback @aart . If I still can't figure this out I'll start a thread.:thumbsup

My birds used to knock over my 5 gallon bucket with horizontal nipples a lot this summer.

I have a swaging tool, so I measured to the roof and crimped ends on 3/16 cable and put carabiners on, one to the handle another to the screw hook in the rafter.

Now they can jump on it all they want, they can't knock it over.

My waterer has only been knocked over once in 5 years.
Happened this last summer when the water level was low and I had 5 rambunctious cockerels in the coop
But I do have an angled board over it, which is hinged for my easy access, so they cannot jump on top of it.
