grouchy hen

she is def. a hen, and has a red face eyes comb and waddle not laying yet but prob soon i carry a stick not to hit but to show i can she and the rooster got the message when they both flew up to it. i didn't them they hit the stick then they left me alone to finish what I was doing. the rooster follows me to the gate and as i leave he jumps with both feet at the gate. He is a jerk. my husband is building a "pimp palace" he will be separated used only to breed until he can be replaced. a black australorp.
I had , i did say had 5 BAs Roosters, 3 went in the pot and to just went, i will say that if one attacks me for no reason, then it has got to be rehomed, even if that is a dumpster if i dont have time to take care of it in a more preffered manner, my wife and grand children tend them while i am gone for 14 days, so i refuse to get a call, saying one of them had to go get stiched up, so OH BILLY Club stands in the corner of the chicken house, my flock leader never attacks unless he fills threatened by or for some reason, he never makes a hen make a chirp when mounting, in fact the 44 he he takes care of will run up to him and do a nose dive just to get him to mount them, but it was a constant fiasco when the BAs were around, i will never own another one, Bossman is a Barred Rock x marans. I am going to hatch from my sweetest hen in hope of generating more docile flock roos such as Bossman. OH by the way, that is Bossman in the back of my profile picture, and you can tell he is popular with the girls, it is like this everywhere he goes and those are 3 different age groups of hens.

It was my shoes, they are pink with pink laces, I put on a different pair and nobody even noticed me, pretty funny. Even the rooster was unimpressed with me in there.

Well, there you go, you should always wear dark, pale clothing, never short pants around the flock, you never know when a threat will be sensed and acted upon, hoping this never happens but if it does, dont exspose your bare skin to those spurs and toe nails, they are like razors

I was going to suggest reconsideration in regards to breeding your rooster. There's no sense in passing on aggressive traits but it sounds as though the cause has been determined and everyone has settled down.

I found out this morning why she was so ticked off. She laid a large egg so when i went in the coop I was greeted not attacked. poor baby was probably miserable.

that explains a lot... my husband has red work shoes that he wears outside thats why the rooster goes for him every time he goes into the coop. thanks

My dad's rooster began attacking my stepmum after she wore a pair of white socks that had a red strip around the top. They figured he thought it was the comb of an intruder so she never wore them when out in the yard again. Unfortunately for him, his attacking of her didn't stop after that first time so he became soup.
