Female Rouen lost her mate. What can I do?

We got two ducklings in the Spring and they ended up being a male and a female. They have been inseparable. Sadly, some critter got the male the night before last. Now the female won't stop calling for him. :0( What can i do? Can I get her some female friends? Will they get along? Thanks!!
 
Yes, you can definitely and should get her a few buddies. Just introduce them slowly and they should be fine. I have 10 ducks and after an adjustment period where they found their place in the flock, all get along well.

Are you able to make your duck area more predator proof? Preds will keep returning if the food supply is easy. Only way to keep that from happening is to do a good job predator proofing and keep them secure at night.

That happened to me last year. Very sad. I am sorry for your loss. I would get her a few friends asap. Stress is very hard on ducks. It may be tough in the beginning introducing them and having them get comfortable with each other but they will eventually. If you can try to get them within a few days. Until then give her lots of attention.
