Hi there so I have two call ducklongs that are two weeks old. They are bedded on paper towels at the moment but it is not really working they just get sodden and gross very quickly. I have tried wood shavings but they just ate loads!! I know some poeple say they just try them but they were properly eating them. What shall I use? It gets smelly quickly so if there was something that didn't smell that would be a bonus! I know I am asking a lot but I may as well try!! Haha

Th ask in advance

I'm a chicken lady, no ducks. But you could consider sand? I raised my chicks on sand…they eat anything else. Just have to sift the poops out. A lot easier, I think, than other beddings.

I don't know about sand?? with ducks I don't think it would work though because of the water situation? I don't think it would dry out fast enough. They make such a mess! :) thanks for the suggestion. :)

Are you using large flake shavings? How about the pine pellets for horses? I have puppy pads that I'm going to use first and then switch to shavings/pellets after a few days. I'm going to assume they do know where there food is but did you change the container at all when you put new bedding in?

Sorry missed your post. I used large flake shaving but they would suffle through till they found the smaller ones. The food was in the same container and they knew where it was yes.
