Eye lid bump, cyst, sore...what is it?

I have a Creme Leg Bar hen of about 8 months old, not laying yet, shy and somewhat timid. She always comes to me when I enter the pen so she somewhat an outcast. She has a "groom" but she is afraid and not ready yet. I noticed a bump on her upper eyelid the other day, somewhat small. Yesterday I noticed it bigger and I have put Neosporin on it after I brought her in yesterday to examine it. Today it seems to be leaking a little but I noticed her eye opened just a little. I am afraid I don't know what it is. I have looked on different blogs and nothing seems to be similar. Here is a picture of this pretty little girl with a sore on her eye..

It's on her eye lid...not eye...sorry. She eats and drinks well...a little watery poop otherwise just a shy girl.

It looks like she may have been pecked by another bird or perhaps she scratched her eye causing a bad infection. I recommend that you get her started on baytril or amoxicillin. Try using terramycin eye ointment in her eye instead of using neosporin, continue until healed.

These pictures are much clearer than the one you posted yesterday in the other thread. I think Dawg 53 has given you very good advice.

Terramycin ointment works like magic - follow directions carefully - it was all we used with an eye injury - to many antibiotics can cause GI issues - and then u get runny stools to correct - we also couldn't eat her eggs during and for 2 wks after we stopped treatment
