Peacock or Peahen??

These are my 4 peababies. I'm pretty positive there is 1 India Blue male his neck is more of the deep blue in the picture his name is Brock. 1 Pied and thinking she is a female and the other 2 I'm assuming are India Blues and at 1 point I was positive that they were both female but now I'm not sure anymore?? Need opinions and expertise, what does everyone think?

Looks like three hens and a cock to me. I am not sure but the hen with the throat patch looks like it might be White Eye?

Hummm not sure about the photo enlarging. So that looks like the verdict then, 1 peacock and 3 peahens.......

Yep your last photo you posted a while back fooled me with the barring on the tail and not being able to she the rest of the birds

The male is next to the chicken !

Lucky you with all those girls!

The hen with the white throat patch has some kind of gene that causes white, probably a pied gene, or possibly a white gene. But does not have two white genes (otherwise she would be white). She could be a dark pied, having two pied genes, or split pied, just having one pied gene.

I'm guessing what @KsKingBee noticed was the same thing I noticed, the white patch hen is lighter colored than the other birds. Neither white genes nor pied genes cause an overall lightening of the bird's color like that -- pied causes areas of white, and white causes an entirely white bird. But neither gene causes feather lightening (dilution) of the color.

White eye genes CAN cause lightening of color, but I'm not aware that a white eye gene will ever cause a white throat patch -- maybe someone else knows?

So I think what he is suggesting is that the white patch hen may have both some white or pied gene causing the white throat patch, AND a white eye gene (or two) causing the dilution of the hen's body color? It's hard to tell at this point, but interesting if that's what's going on with her

Yes that is what I was thinking and looking for some conformation. The throat patch is a sign that the hen is carrying some Pied genes but is not enough white to call Pied. The overall silver color of the hen is a sign to me that she is carrying White Eye gene and the white tipped feathers on her back and the one white flight makes me fairly certain. Like Garden Peas points out it will be interesting to watch her develop and if you see more of the white develop on her back it will be an even better indication of WE.
