Is a solid floor (concrete) as good as being on wire if the litter is kept clean?

The feed store near me keeps their chicks on concrete with clean shavings on top and they lose about 1/2 of their chicken chicks to coccidiosis.

That is a good question, I am thinking it is probably pretty close, when we have moved chicks into the large barn(concrete floor) and not let them out into runs, we have had very few instances of disease, or parasites. I have even used bleach/water solution in a spray bottle and sprayed concrete floors down( after removing bedding of course), if I had a sick bird in the pen.

Do you think they take any steps to clean out infected droppings before adding new chicks? Or sanitizing in between?
