She freaked out a bit and then burst out laughing and called all the kitchen staff to come look. They were awesome, they allowed us to sit at the table and eat with him and share our (beef) burgers with him. Everyone stopped and asked about him and some people did ask what he was! Amazing how many people don't know what a baby chicken looks like?

It's amazing to me that some people don't know what a baby chicken looks like...even if they never had one, they're on Easter cards, in coloring books and story books, stuffed toys, etc. There used to be a thread about the dumbest things people have said about chickens & eggs. It was surprising to read story after story about people that would only eat store eggs, but not fresh eggs from a backyard flock. People are funny.
