Calcium binds with it and several other drugs (tetracycline, too, I think), so they aren't supposed to be given together. Some studies say that the same can happen when one uses hard water. Since she said she wasn't going to give the Baytril, I saw no reason to explain the calcium thing.Something worth noting regarding calcium and enrofloxacin. Apparently birds given calcium less than 2 hours before or after enrofloxacin dosage minimized the effects of antibiotic activity:
