We're glad to have you.

I'm sorry about your losses! I hope you lose no more of your chickens.

Hi,
Something else to think about besides hanging things on the wires which is a good idea is: Do you have any little shelters that they can get under? We have about 4 covers. about 2 ft high and 4 ft across that help keep predators from reaching the chickens and our ducks . get 4 pieces of wood ( same size make small posts and then nail on a roof of some type that should help a lot.

I've been having hawk problems too. I finally went to a outdoor store and got a crow decoy. Hawks are pestered by crows and avoid them.

That's a good idea too! Sometimes I put poopy eggs out (not anywhere near the barn) but in the woods or far out in the field, to try to entice the crows to stick around,
as they eat eggs. I'm sure they don't get them all, but I think they do get some, as they do hang around and they're a good alarm system. The flock knows the alarm cries
of all the wild birds, and the squirrels.

this morning I was out feeding and Captain, our alpha roo, heard the crows way back in the woods by the house. He knew though. He told the flock to watch out, and they listened.

A little later two Red Tailed Hawks came by. But they didn't stick around. the flock was already under cover, lol.
