I don't know where to turn, but here!!! I had gotten 2 Pekins from Tractor Supply in February. Of course the didn't know their sex, but I took my chances anyways. Hoping I would have gotten a girl and a boy, but instead, 2 boys. I raised them with my chickens (12) and all has been fine till 2 weeks ago. The ducks have been attacking my chickens, whether or not for "pleasure" or just being aggresive, I do not know. I separated them from the chickens, but they got out and bloodied one of my hens. She looks terrible!! Now; my hens are all fighting. I need a home for my boys---breaks my heart, but I cannot let them keep hurting my girls and they are now stuck in a playpen size area. I live in Plymouth, MI, and if anyone knows anything I can do---PLEASE help me!!! I will be in and out all day, trying to keep an eye on everything, and hoping to figure this out. The whole thing just breaks my heart.....Thank you!!!!!
 
You can post on Craigslist under the farm section or you can post here under the free animals in need of rehoming. You can also go to your states thread in the social area and see if anyone would like them.

You dif need to keep the drakes away from your hens they can kill them mating with them. if you have a way to pen your chickens up till you get homes for the drakes that maybe the best thing to do. and make sure the pen is very secure. needlessjunk gave good advise on where to post them, very sorry this is happening. Never a good outcome when it's drakes and hens in the same place together. Unless the drakes have their own ducks. When chickens see blood they really go nuts and have been know to kill and eat their own so make sure to clean off any blood and use Blue Kote on any wounds. it disguises wounds and blood.
 
Is there anyway you can set up a "drakes only" area? Keep them separate from your hens? If you have to put them in together at night, can you put the boys in a crate, or as I have done in the past, used dog ex pens for an area to keep the new duck in with my existing flock? They then can be where you need them to be but not be able to get to the hens. Or maybe, keep them in a night pen in a garage or something. They during the day, either swap them around so the hens get some time out, then back in a safe area and the boys can wander? It would keep your chickens safe and you could keep the ducks. Just an idea. May be more work initially, but once everyone acclimates, it might work out fine.

Eat them, and get the next set from a breeder so you don't end up with only drakes this time? I have found that Tractor Supply is only useful to a point. When I ordered my Easter Eggers from a breeder, the only thing my Tractor Supply offered back then was Banny Hens hoping they would be picked up as pets for kids. Unless, you are emotionally attached to them, they might make a nice Christmas dinner.

Keep the drakes away from the hens - that is what I would do first. I am not sure how being computer literate or not affects moving the drakes, though.

And if they are pets, they are pets. Most members of BYC seem to respect that.

Blue Kote is a helpful liquid that covers wounds and with chickens helps prevent other chickens from pecking at existing wounds. Feed stores carry it, usually.
