So, the mystery is up! Lucy is a Girl and she has now laid 2 eggs! The first one was bigger than her second, and had a bit of blood on it. She seems fine though and 2 days later, I found a smaller, broken egg. I'm assuming it's Lucy that laid the second egg, as her butt has looked longer since she had the first one.

We ate the first egg! Fried it up like a chicken egg. OMG, it was soooo good! I have never tasted a better egg and my kids agreed!

Today I filled their pool with warm water and Moose mounted Lucy, backwards of course, but still, I feel bad they both "want some" LOL and will never get any.

They are both doing great, and despite somedays having to stay inside their night pen, either due to weather or just a busy schedule in which I wouldn't be home until after dark, they are walked several times a day, and when I'm home, and it's light out, the garage door stays open and they seem happy.

Here is a picture of Lucy laying her first egg. Then a comparison of Lucy's egg next to Eggland's best chicken egg. I love these babies!

That was hilarious, I really think Moose will finally figure it out or Lucy will beat the tar out of him and he'll learn faster. The egg is beautiful and they are yummy aren't they.

Thanks! I was so proud of her, but I have to laugh, she walked funny for half the day after that LOL
They do walk funny afterward don't they and they sag a little more too. lol

She is so saggy, you can tell when an egg is coming! I had them outside in their outdoor pen all day, when we let them out, she flew all the way to her garage pen, didn't want any treats and bee lined for her corner in the garage and sat down making a next. Like she was hold a poop all day and was running to the toilet LOL Sweet baby! I'll see if I can take a picture!

So is Moose acting protective? Look forward to seeing pics, they are so precious when they go into laying mode.

It's been determined here by several people that Moose is a female. She does mount Lucy, usually backwards, but she hasn't laid any eggs. She is not protective and acts like a girl.
