What is your Christmas dinner menu?

The family recipe that my dad uses for mincemeat contains venison. He looks forward to getting a deer, just so he can make his mincemeat. It is his mothers recipe, from her side of the family. She was a hoosier, from Indiana. I am sure it is a regional thing. He always ate the entire pie by himself, we girls were picky.

Our Christmas lunch is a gathering, everyone brings something somewhat snacky. So far the menu is: deviled eggs, veggie pizza, meatballs, ham, salad, and ??? (brain fart, can't remember what else). I need to figure out what to take, I haven't been able to be there for over 8 years, so I am a newcomer to the feast. So far I am making Irish Cream and possibly brandy slush.

Any ideas? maybe taco dip or shrimp dip ...

I loved the relish tray best when I was a kid. I still love those little gherkin pickles.

I vote for the relish tray too with all sorts of raw veggies. Seems like we get so much "treat" type stuff this time of year, the fresh simple things taste especially good. Plus it's easy to prepare and transport...a win/win!

Oooh...Irish Cream, that sounds really good!

Enjoy the time with your family Blooie and God bless your sister. No one can ever know us AND still love us like our sibs.
Oh, dear, I may have given the wrong impression. We spent Thanksgiving with Linda and the rest of the family this year - we'll be doing Christmas at home with 2 of our 3 kids and their kids. Sorry for the mixup. I reread it and it did look I was saying we were spending Christmas back in South Dakota. Silly me! Oh, and thanks for the good wishes for Linda. I agree our siblings knowing us best. I had great parents and 4 siblings. My Ma and Dad were wonderful role models for us, but I've long believed that we learn more about getting along with others from our siblings than we do our parents in a lot of ways.
