I'm new to ducks, I was going to build a new large coop for another group of chicken this spring.I was at a friends place last weekend and was watching her ducks. These guys ran in a pack, they where back and forth from the spring to their house.Had fun watching them do what ducks do. So after reading what I found on the net I'm going for the Welsh ducks since I'm the Weaving Welshman, No from what I have read they are good egg layers and just a good all around duck. I show my wife pic of them and she was impressed. So I will be ordering them in the spring.I will build a small coop for a few chickens.I'll give you a update after this all plays out. Come on spring.

Welcome! I'm sure you will love them. I have a welsh girl but she is still a baby so I can't say too much about them other than what I've read. I think they are very pretty though And I'm hoping the egg laying and personality traits are true. Be warned duck are mess especially duvklings! They live to play in water and must have water deep enough to dunk their heads to clean out their nares. When you are ready to get building and set up we can help. Of course we also must see pics when the arrive because who can't resist ducklings!

Thanks needlessjunk, I plan to build a coop 8x16 and a nice size pen area I can fence off. I do have a larger water tank that I will be using.I will have a filter system to keep it clean. This will be fun
