Hey guys, on Dec 21st I bought two hens and a rooster. The rooster is a Blue Maran, only 6-7 months old, and crowed for the first time yesterday. My hens are Ameraucana, one is 14 months old, and the other is about 8 months old. The older hen, I was told was laying usually an egg a day. The next day I bought three Rhode Island Reds, 6-7 months old. The Reds I knew most likely wouldn't lay very soon, but I expected at least one egg by now. I realize that moving farms and meeting new hens would stress them out, how long should it take for my girls to calm down? And is there anything I can do to help get them laying? They seem perfectly healthy, and very friendly they come to the gate when I am outside. Any and all advice is encouraged and appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Samantha

They should start calming down soon!!!

Assuming the ages are correct, you should start getting eggs very soon. Make sure the diet is correct and make sure you don't have a bunch of egg eaters. Is your chicken coop big enough for all these chickens? Are they free ranging and hiding the eggs? Just a few things to think of...

They are in an enclosure that is 10x10 with three coupes, I am building more tomorrow, and they will be starting free range tomorrow. Here's hopping that having more space will push them into laying.
