My husband and I just bought an old farmhouse in Wantage New Jersey. Its got 1.04 acres and an original chicken coop on the property. Im being told by my real estate agent that in Wantage, a minimum of 6 acres is required for chickens since they are considered agriculture. Does anyone else know this to be true?
This has me very upset because part of my dream with this house was to raise my own chickens for eggs.
6 acres is a huge requirement for chickens and Wantage is practically all farm land. Very confused.
