Hi I'm in New Zealand (we can't import eggs so have to make up new and interesting things!) I have managed to breed some birds that express the paint colouring and are half silkie and have man silkie traits (but not the silkie feathering yet). I am wanting to breed these girls back to a silkie rooster. I haven't managed to find a great black rooster which seems like the obvious choice but I have got some rather amazing white silkie roosters. I know that white can cover a multitude of colours. Would I be better off waiting and looking out for a black rooster or give the white boys a go?
