Ok, I am interested in getting some Polish hens, but unfortunately in my area, south louisiana, I can't find anyone who breeds them. So, my question is...Is it safe to order chicks in the mail and where would be the best place to get that specific breed? I have never ordered chicks by mail, just wanting some advice on where to start my search. Thanks a bunch! :cd

Meyer and Murray McMurray sell sexed LF Polish. For sexed bantams your only option is My Pet Chicken.

I've ordered some Golden Laced Polish from Murray McMurray in the past, and they were very nice birds. As keesmom said, MM does give you the option of ordering Polish pullets.

Awesome! Thanks guys! I will give it a shot!

You're welcome.

Ok, so I ordered from Mypetchicken.com. I read some pretty good reviews and didn't have to order as many as McMurry's miminum. Also, I had the option to choose pullets! So, 6 Polish babies will be on their way in April!! So excited!

UGH, I just went to order chicks and most are out for 2015. I only need 6 chicks and my young kids want like 6 different kinds but I want them to be good egg layers. Any tips for places were I can order 6 chicks of differing varieties that still have inventory?

O wow! I thought April was a long waiting list! McMurry Hatchery and Meyer Hatchery had some pretty good reviews, but it's a minimum of 15 birds. That's why I chose MYpetchicken. Have you tried to buy locally? Most of my birds I bought locally, but we were specifically looking for some polish and not really any in my area. Good Luck!

Cackle Hatchery did a fantastic job with my baby chicks. They all survive the flight to my house and they came me two extra. You also don't have to order 25 chicks. Cackle Hatchery is 15 or above. Best of Luck!
