CS15 -- The Official Michigan Chicken Stock Information Thread for June 20, 2015

Unfortunately, we are unable to attend as originally planned...nothing to do with AI, but rather a schedule change for marching band :-( We will miss you all....my son will especially miss the raffle table!! We will miss catching up with everyone. Hope it is a great day!

I'm so eggcited to see somebody. Hey, I made sooo much Cherry Wine last year and I still have a mess from 3 years ago. I think I'll bring a few bottles for my good friends, lol! Not for the raffle and def not for sale.

Wow...I didn't expect to get snarked at.

I am a very busy person, drive over an hour to get there and then over an hour back. I am not 100% convinced I won't come, but I am very behind in my chores...still putting in my garden and have horses, the chickens who I am still not done building their pens. I have met a few that are still going and that's why I might still come...I enjoy their company. I also have a cha-chi that I got for the exchange table. And Gail's eggs. But I have to look at all I have to do and make a decision that way. And while I enjoy the people behind the chickens, I also enjoy the chickens.

Just sayin'.

Hey there Jackie, I don't think she meant to snark. It's only 5 hours out of your day plus your drive or don't stay the whole time. :) It's great to network with everyone, you learn, you share, you make friends etc. Try to make it won't you? Hope to see you there!

C'mon! Come see everyone!

Woohoo. We have a solution! Just like the state fairs are doing... I propose that anyone wishing to bring a bird can bring a replica for us all to enjoy. I understand they have feathers and everything. Maybe they lay eggs too.

I have 13 or 14 dozen older eggs (from Jan-Mar) to bring you for your art. I would love one painted egg in return (if you think that is fair, I don't know the price of your egg art).
And to all, I am driving from Port Huron area (Emmett) to Lansing for this, no short drive for me either, just sayin' :) My garden is not finished either due to rain every other darn day. Maybe I should learn how to do aquatic corn, green beans, cucumbers, squash, etc. Maybe I can convert my tractor to an air boat? What I have planted is coming up and the tomatoes are already bearing fruit so, I can take one day to meet all my fellow BYC'rs. I am photographing the event and my son is bringing Broccoli slaw. For how many should he make it?
On an awesome note, (not that I'm happy my 6 yr old bantam died) I sent her for a necropsy at MSU just to see if there was anything present that I would need to address with the rest of my flocks. Her death was particular to her and AI was negative as was any kind of parasite, respiratory disease, cocci, etc. Geese fly over my house daily and I have wild bird feeders everywhere. My chickens' health is clean, clean, clean! It's a good thing cuz, I've got 2 broody BO's sitting on over 40 eggs and when last I candled, they were live! So, I'm about to go from 26 birds to over 60!

See everyone there ?
