Greetings.

My wife and I will be processing 10-12 DP chickens on 1.24.15 at our home in Eustis Florida. We do it outside, by hand. Pretty rustic by todays standards.

Anyone local interested in learning how, or watching? I spent hours watching youtube before my first slaughter, I would have loved the opportunity to get hands on training!

Even for somebody who may not have chickens at butchering age right now, seeing/doing is the best teacher!

I'm here in southern Putnam County ... but along with slaughtering my last two Cornish-Rocks in the next couple days, I am due to receive a batch of new chicks Friday morning. While I am curious about any plucking tips you may have, not sure how my back will feel after a busy week.

What I'd really love is a hands-on workshop on caponizing.
 
Only 40 hours away from slaughter time.

Anyone want to tag along and see how we do it? Fresh chicken livers and eggs served upon completion of our ten birds!!
