Loud Mouths

Does anyone have a suggestion, other than get rid of them, to keep a guinea from hollering so much or so loud? Neighbors haven't complained yet but I'm afraid they may. I have 4, 2 males and 2 females. The males only chirp when spooked but one of the females is the loud mouth. The other female only occasionally hollers. I have dogs separated by a 6 ft. fence but they don't seem to holler any more when the dogs are close. The other fences are 6 ft. wood privacy fences so they don't out to the street or the other neighbors. They share one corner of my yard with about 20 chickens. They all roost together in a 4 x 8 coop I built for them.

Anyone ever heard of putting some kind of muzzle on a guinea? It works on a dog.

x2 guineas never shut up. They are singing, but man what a sour tune!

If I could invent a muzzle to keep them a little quieter, would anyone buy it? The males can get loud but they are not as persistent as the female and only get loud when something is obviously bothering them. I do have to keep their wings clipped. I did have two more but one flow over m fence and my dog had her for dinner. The other one flew upon their coop and then on up on my house first, then decided to go on down to the yard. The dog was watching her on the roof and almost caught her mid-air when she flew down. Another good dinner. I raised the fence another 3 foot and clip their wings about every two weeks.

I have two females that do it constantly to the point that I don't even "hear" them any longer. The males never utter a sound except if excited. They are already jumpy. To put a muzzle on them - I would think - would even more stress them out. In my opinion your only solution is the find them a good home, if some one does complain.
 
i'd buy it, though, if you came up with something workable. or even a feed that induced laryngitis. we can dream!

I HAVE JUST ACQUIRED 6 ADULT GUINEAS, AND DO NOT WANT THEM TO FLY, DID YOU CLIP BOTH WINGS OR DO YOU JUST CLIP ONE WING AS WITH CHICKENS? THANKS
