I will be a hen mum in next week or so. Almost fully set up the nursery...oops I mean coop and run and feed and everything! I am getting 6 rescue hens from a lovely lady in Brisbane (Australia) as I want to give some of these little beauties a good life. I don't eat meats or commercial eggs so this is one way, if my hens gift me with eggs....eggcellent! We will be naming the hens after me and husbands mother, Aunty and sister.....so soon I'll be introducing to you Margaret, Sheila, Kerrie, Vera, Tori and Tulic. My first query was about dog poo and found great answers....look forward to visiting with you all again. Jules

Then you're an Aussie? G'day and welcome to Backyard Chickens. So glad you joined the flock. You are really kind to take in so many ex-battery hens. I'm sure they will flourish under your loving care.

BYC has a most excellent thread "Australia, six states and one funny little Island. Hope you will post photos.
