very anemic goat

Here is a photo of her lid color.

It still looks really pale to me.
Oh yes, super pale! Once you take care of the cause of her anemia (worms, for instance) it will take time to rebuild her red blood cells. Erythropoiesis sadly doesn't happen overnight. Didn't I read she was getting some red cell, as well? Keep it up. She will need higher amounts of iron and protein to form new red blood cells, since that is what they are composed of. A handful of calf manna a day would provide a massive protein boost, since it is 25% protein.

She just had her third dose of Ivomec on Sunday. Then the next is in 30 days, and then another fecal test. I am really hopeful that this is taking care of the source of the issue, especially since I am seeing improvement in her younger pal. But I guess there's no way to know 100% for sure until that next test.
I am giving her Red Cell, some extra grain, alfalfa, and sunflower seeds. And she had Copasure in a marshmallow.
The vet did say that it takes time to rebuild blood cells. I just still worry about her since she is staying so pale.
Perhaps I am impatient.
I also worry about giving her too much Red Cell, or having her on it for too long. But I guess as long as her body needs more iron- it's safe to keep giving? I am adding it into her food once every day. It seems like everyone has a different suggested amount for goats since it's not a product made for them.

When I first looked at her lid, I was so scared for her! I am really looking forward to that white turning pink!

Thank you for the protein suggestion! The vet did not tell me that. I am sure some extra can't hurt.
