One of our chickens is really thin, but she has always been smaller. Yesterday she was sitting in the corner in the dirt. Today when we let her out she was standing with her feathers puffed out and her head now and now she is back in the dirt just sitting there. We are going to separate her and bring her in...what else can we do for her?????

I would get some Corid and treat her for possible coccidiosis. Treat her with 2tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon for 5-7 days. Afterward give her several days if vitamins and Probiotics. Then I would worm her with Valbazen or Safeguard liquid wormer in case she has worms. Dosage is 1/2 ml orally, then repeat Valbazen in 10 days.

We have her seperated, she is in a pen inside the house now. Fiance is going to get the corid soon. Should we keep giving her regular feed or should we be feeding her something special? yogurt for probiotics, scrambled eggs for protien..etc... She is currently in her little pen eating food. We will do what you said we will worm her once we get past this. Thank you

Any chance you can take a poop sample to a vet and have it checked for coccidia and worm eggs? Be sure to check her very carefully for lice and mites.

Thank you!! Will start treating in an hour or so! Do we need to treat the rest of the girls? We have 3 more in the coop she is from and one that free ranges.

It won't hurt to treat them. Can you post a picture of the sick one's poop?

I had to go to class so I'm not home anymore, I can take one when I get home at 7.. 3 hours from now. Should he wait to treat?
