Does this look like a bielefelder pullet?

I really do have 6 chicks....

From those pics, assuming there is a white head dot on those black/grey birds...I could see those as being 3 Barred Rocks, a potential Partridge Rock, and you say an EE bantam...yes, they are frequently chipmunk as chicks, I think I see the muff in the photo too.

RIght now, with all the data you've given me...3 barred rock roosters, 1 partridge rock pullet, and 1 EE bantam pullet (per your assessment to gender as no full pictures).

Just now saw this photo...you obviously have at least 1 roo, maybe 2...and several pullets...and hard to tell at this juvenile molt stage, but if they were all chocolate as chicks, and continue to develop...they may be a rock of some sort. Look through the Plymouth Rock link I gave you.

Otherwise, wait until they are older, about 10 to 12 weeks, after they have more adult feathers, and we can try again to guess what they may be.

There were no head spots, I would have been suspicious of being "gifted" packing peanuts. But the two chocolate chicks do look like partridge rock chicks, now that you mention it. They seem light for adult partridge markings right now, but as you said they still can modify their final look. Thank you for being so helpful

I have been raising Bielefelders for two years and that is not a Bielefelder chick. This is a 5 week old bielefelder pullet. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the pics. My two twin pullets still have that same color pattern but they are definitely some type of Mediterranean breed. Possibly leghorn? Your girl is very cute and looks like she will turn out to be a big girl

Being a breeder of Bielefelders and Niederrheiners, I can assure you that the chick in the first pic of this thread is definitely NOT a Bielefelder. I'll try to get a picture of some of my current pullets and cockerels that are around the same age. I'm guessing yours are almost 2 months?

At 2 months, the Bielefelder cockerels will have more of a cuckoo pattern than a barred pattern. The cockerels tend to have light brown breast feathering and have some of that copper / rusty coloring in the black striping.

At Day 1, Bielefelder cockerels have a blonde spot on top of their head and a cinnamon-like body. The Bielefelder pullets at Day 1 will have "chipmunk" stripes, just like how Brown Leghorn chicks look like as well as other crele breeds...I think even back to the source -- Red Junglefowl! The main difference is they are a bit rounder and bigger as well as having olive legs / feet.

Hopefully that helps but like I said I'll try to get some pics to you on this thread so you can see what I mean.

Those two chicks would up being stocky birds that lay tan eggs
