I love trees, plant them everywhere we have lived. Maple trees, pine trees, fruit trees. I like going back to see how they are doing!
Me too!

At this place I have panted a plum tree, two orange trees a peach tree and a barren cherry tree. This is a city lot too!

I like trees too but not a 50 ft.tree on a very small lot and close to the house. We used to have purple leaf plum, gorgeous red smoke tree,Red buds, gorgeous crab apples. They either got sickly and died or the invasive English Buckthorn spawn forced them out.

We do have a giant ...mmm..I can't remember, white elm? Anyway I really love it and luckily it seems to be in good health and not too close to the house. But I know it won't last forever...hopefully another 70 years?

The thing is, if she has too many, more than one might not stay warm and you could end up with a bunch of quitters. If she covers all well, then you would have a better hatch percentage.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that.

She's one of my biggest hens so I don't think covering them will be an issue but I don't want her to be overwhelmed raising so many.

She recently had like 20 under her when I forgot to collect the eggs for a few days and discovered she had gone broody and I couldn't even see any eggs under her so I know she can cover a lot but it would both of our first time hatching anything.

Her, my other Australorp, and my Barred Rock are huge.

I babied that tree since it was just a sapling - no branches. Fed it, watered it, talked to it a lot. Estimator said she couldn't believe it got that tall since July 1973. Had I known it would be Treezilla, I would have left it at K-mart and got a rose bush or something else.

Wow you grew it? And they sold trees at Kmart?

Yes, KMart had a garden center.

Never would have guessed that with how it is now haha
The Kmart here had a garden center too.

It depends on the store size with placed if they have a garden center or not. The Target here is one size below a super target. It has some food but not much. There is a place for a garden center but they closed it off after a couple of years and use it for storage now

NFC I LOVE the coffee cans!!!!
Good luck with the broody.

After 49 hours I gave in a let DH take the shell off the top of the one egg. She was still not done. I put her in a plastic cup lined with antibiotic cream (no pain reliever) and an moist cotton ball she is sleeping but still breathing. 20180417_083056.jpg She is inside the container inside the incubator.

And at 5pm here the last chick pushed out of her shell. She is tired and i will post pics when she gets moving, dried off and cute ;) 20180417_170249.jpg
