So far it's just the one hen that had a problem, thanks DD. I had to put some blu-kote on my favorite Nn today, that darn randy rooster! There's not many feathers on her head so he got her skin instead. Poor baby.

He's out there crowing his head off, I'm thinking about squirting him with a hose.
I've got a Muscovy female with a similar problem. I've had to shut her in on her own for a bit to let the scab heal properly. She gets away easily during the day but at night.....

My ex played this kind of music with a fairly well known band from Louisiana.
I use to go to Yaga Razz in Galveston every Friday when crawfish was in season. $8 get in the door, all the crawfish you could peel and eat. Always had live band playing Zydeco! Alot of good times there! Not much else to do in Galveston for a poor college kid.

How cool! I always love to hear about people who know what Zydeco even is! Louisiana always has free dances and festivals, lot of stuff to do compared to other places. Nice to know Galveston had something like that and you got to see it!

Poor baby. I hope she's better soon! My hen is hanving out around the coop in the side yard, out of sight out of mind. I went and had lunch with her, snuck her some mealworms when no one else was around.

 I do stuff like that! I have a few, well not favorites as such, but 'special' hens. Usually they are hens that I've had in the house because they got injured. They know I've always got something to eat in my pocket and come to have a hopeful check when I'm close by.
It's a matter of giving them something without the others seeing.:lau

Yes, I've read your story about Fat Bird and the fact you take your feathers off at night :lau Love your stories!

It's about distraction here. I threw the others some scratch then slowly meandered my way to the coop with special treats hidden in my pocket.

What do you give as treats? Walnuts and grapes are really popular here. Oddly, they don't go much on the shop bought grapes. they like the wine grapes that grow here which are more acidic.
