Nor me thankfully. A hen that lays oversize eggs is likely to get a prolapse. All the birds I have had and raised...I never have had a double yolk layer or 2 eggs in-one laid.

Been lucky here this year. No major fires close enough to be concerned about.Afternoon, café! Another warm one today, but sounds like cool and rainy next week. I'm okay with that. A few small fires started west of us this afternoon. They haven't released cause yet. Sounds like the helicopters are hitting them pretty hard and, of course, the darn wind is blowing. Hopefully they get'em out soon!
@DobieLover I didn't realize that was an egg inside of an egg. I've heard of it happening, but never have seen it. Hope your girl gets on track.
Speaking of Treacle.
Now I think he's quite a handsome young chap. He's getting pecked a bit on his comb but nothing serious. He's very funny in the mornings. Cillin doesn't take any chances and practically throws Treacle out of the coop. This is partly because at the end of the ramp is the chicken gateway through the stock net sheep fence. The hens, especially Fat Bird, try to get on the other side of the fence with Cillin as quickly as possible to avoid Treacle. Fat Bird won't even come out if Cillin isn't there to fend Treacle off if he makes a lung for her.
He is quite a handsome young chap!I need to learn how to use my camera better. It's not a bad point and squirt camera, it's a Olympus Tough.
This is Mel settling down for the night. She's had a bit of supper, her security roof put on, which is really to shut out some of light. Only Treacle came to see her today although she did spend a little while with her tribe this morning when she got off the nest.

I've seen a bit of that here, even with small tribes. Punch was like that with Mag. It seemed from keeping an eye on it that the hens were either avoiding Mag, or shaking him off. Punch didn't really start chasing Mag off until Mag was confident enough to make a hen crouch. Then Punch would charge Mag off.Is is quite a handsome young chap!
I wish Fabio would pay a bit more attention to Captain's actions. That boy is starting to really torment the pullets and only gets corrected about 10% of the time. I'm toying with locking him in the brooder for a week or two but part of me thinks that will just make him all the worse when I let him back out.

Captain has made no tries for the hens. He exclusively torments the pullets. Fabio will drive him off a pullet and give the pullet a peck when he is close enough to get there before the deed is done. But as we all know it's pretty much over with in the blink of an eye. Who would want to be reincarnated as a chicken?I've seen a bit of that here, even with small tribes. You've got a lot of hens for Fabio to defend. He may just end up keeping Captain away from his favorites and let the pullets decide.
I'll tell him you said so.I think Treacle is a very handsome guy...those girls don't know what they're missing
