@FortCluck our daughter has a black lab that may be the second most intelligent dog I have ever known.

My end of Thanksgiving is prepared:

Mashed butternut squash/maple syrup
Roasted brussel sprouts with yellow raisins
Breaded roasted asparagus with Balsamic vinaigrette
Mushrooms in brown gravy

The Princess adds :

Keylime cheesecake pie
Brie in pastry

Cherry pie is out of the refrigerator. At 3 PM we head to our daughter's home. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Good morning everyone! Happy Turkey eating day.
Did I tell you guys my dog killed a possum last night? It was a big one!

Now I'm concerned...what exactly is going on your table for dinner today Cap?

Good morning Cafe

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

@FortCluck the apple crisp made me remember my mom....she use to call it "oven door apple crisp", ...when removing it from the oven one time, she dropped it on the oven door. She just scraped it back into the dish. Thus, the name! :lau

I love family stories like that

One year my parents came for a visit and I served them beef stew for dinner that night. The next day dad was so sick, he had to go to the hospital. From that day onward, we didn't have beef stew...we had killer stew.
(It wasn't actually the food that put dad in the hospital, it was diverticulitis. Figured I better clarify that.)

Wonderful contributions to today's feast Sour! Have a safe trip & enjoy your family!

Folks, just a reminder that turkey skin/fat is a no no for dogs. It can cause pancreatitis and death. I kid you not!

Pancreatitis is at its high point the days after Thanksgiving and Christmas because of this. As in all things moderation is essential. Little Susie can have a taste of the goodies, but a full out turkey skin/fat meal is a real no no.
