I'm in favour of keeping definitions fairly strict. That way we all know what we are talking about. I hear a lot of 'oh but language is dynamic' from people in the main house. Well, language takes rather a long time to change and my science background tells me dynamic usually refers to sudden changes.
I think the correct term for a lot of stretching definitions is an attempt to look like one knows what one is talking about when the reality is one doesn't have a clue.

I told her that it was not a word but she continues and does not seem to care. Sadly, she uses it when counseling undergad English Majors. I often wonder what they think..

That is maddening. It's always kind of odd to me that people aren't more open to correction. So many get defensive about it, but why? I would prefer to be corrected than the alternative.
Cillin and Treacle got patched up earlier; nothing serious but combs a wattles bleed a lot so my house floor looks a bit horrific.
Treacle went off to roost before the rest of the tribe and missed supper. I've just checked and Treacle and Cillin are on the high perch with Mel and one of the chicks between them.
They both got a bit bloody and hopefully Treacle will keep out if his fathers way for a bit.

Morning Cafe yup I am up thanks for the coffee drinking my fiber now with Tang drives me nuts how the English language has been slaughtered.. Went for flue shot yesterday spent two hours waiting by then the truck with the feed had gotten in actually starter grower for the peeps and silkie had been back ordered
