I got out the soldering iron an reattached it - and came to the conclusion that the loose wire was no accident! One button activated a surprisingly loud siren, and another the sound of a truck horn, but two buttons triggered a recording of a child's voice lisping instructions to call firemen if you saw smoke. After living with that truck for a few days, I decided that I could live with the horn and the siren, but that kid had to go! So a surreptitious second surgery was done on the truck, and when my son woke from a nap, a couple of the buttons on his truck had mysteriously ceased to function . . . .
Buttons usually have wires. Just sayin'.
Lol yes that voice would freak me out. You know those dogs that leap frog has? The ones that talk to the baby. We got an older version of one of them as a handme down. The thing will start talking all on its own every once in a while. One night as I was turning out lights to go to bed I hear this singsong voice say "Peeka boo, I see you" I swear I just about wet myself before I realized it was that freaky toy. I keep throwing it in the give away tote, but it keep coming back upstairs
. I need to get rid of that thing.
Honestly the dress doesn't bother me too much, I can tune anything out. But I may have to break a heart and tell her it cannot be a nighttime dress
Someone gave my daughter one of those things - it was called "Baby Tad." It got played with some, but eventually it was outgrown and put into the attic. When batteries are running down, those electronic toys can get a bit eccentric . . . .
For several days, I had thought I occasionally heard voices coming from upstairs when I was alone in the house. That was ridiculous - I figured it was just my ears playing tricks on me. Well, one day, I heard what sounded like a voice again, and I decided to investigate. I went up there, and sure enough, I was hearing what sounded like words spoken slowly in a deep, bass voice. When I got over near the box of old toys, the voice told me to "pick uup Baaybee Taaaaaaaaahd."
Uh, no. I don't think so.
