yes we do - that's what all the testing (prior to approval) is for.
And what appears to be the case with the new new strain (there have been dozens since covid19 emerged a year ago) is that it is transmitted 70% more easily. But it does not appear to be any more lethal, or resistant to the vaccine, or have any other obvious different attributes.

does that include lorry drivers, or is it just to stop the idiot tourists and people who think the rules don't apply to their family?
There is a new strain in South Africa that might be more lethal to younger people

Sounds highly speculative.
This is just one of the CYA's in the article.
" They cautioned, however, that the data was preliminary and based on modelling. "
yes it does sound speculative, but viruses mutate. It's what they do. Most mutations are insignificant. But obviously, the more there are, the more likely it is that one (or more) of them will be significant. Most of the health advice here (and in the US) has been based on modelling from the off. That's what epidemiologists do.

The ground is still very slippery.
So is my driveway. The tractor really packed the snow when the neighbor was scooping it out and it froze into a sheet of ice. I slipped and fell when I was shoveling. Bella proceeded to bow down and start barking at me. Good to know she's of such use to me if I'm to fall a wack my head. She'll bark at my corpse.

You've been reading those conspiracy theories again
:p
I have. You've been spying on me.
I didn't mean to imply you were a Tory. What I meant by the comment was it's hard to read anything else in the main stream media these days.
