Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

This build is going to go extremely slowly. I've put my neck out with the overhead work cutting out chunks of old floor joist. This is getting ridiculous.

My shoulders are sore but not drastic. Splitting wood again and then
I halved some big rounds so they could start drying and be lighter to deal with in a week or so. That and trying to start up the mini-tiller where I manage to give myself a blister from the pull thingy. I slept soundly and now off to take my friend shopping, who says he is starving so we have to go out for breakfast first.

The daffodils are FINALLY blooming here - starting to feel like spring, but a surprise snowstorm scheduled overnight. Lovely.... I helped DH for Setting Day (lobster fishing season start) on Saturday. Had some chicks hatch over the weekend too

Yes, him and his brother fish a smaller license for lobster in LFA 26B North (off Pleasant Bay Nova Scotia), halibut, and a 3-trap inshore snow crab license for a season which usually lasts about a week in July. He also captains whale-watching vessels in the summer months after fishing is done, then does a lot of handy work throughout the fall and winter months. Jack of all trade type.

He has fished Saturday morning through this afternoon WITHOUT any good rest this weekend, which is crazy. Set lobster traps out from 4am to early afternoon on Saturday, then put the decking in the boat in the afternoon, then left on a Halibut fishing trip out of Ingonish (2.5 hours away) at 1am on Sunday, got in from that 1am this morning and went straight to Pleasant Bay to go out on the boat catching lobster before the winds hit this evening.

He use to be the night foreman for the Chronicle Herald (local newspaper) in Halifax back in the days of printed news, but he is from a fishing family and found his way back to that.

Mel the goat gave me a parting gift on Saturday when i sold him.
