Wow. I'm going to keep this in mind.My brother had both, but the medical facility where he had the thrombosis(pulmonary and cardiac) didn't know until after his ribs had been cracked(with 3 resuscitations) and he had been intubated.

Yeah, my point exactly.Wow. I'm going to keep this in mind.
Fabulous!DH has come back to reality! His fever is gone, he's stopped twitching and jerking, he can focus on me, speak (very croaky), knew who I was and said my name!! He smiled and laughed. He's back to him!
He is hungry and thirsty as he should be because he hasn't eaten or drunk anything in over 48 hours. The doctor is brining in someone to evaluate him for the safest way to start him eating and drinking again because he is high risk to aspirate.
Oh. And he does NOT have pneumonia. It was the UTI infection causing the behavior shift and combativeness. The wet coughing I've been listening to is because he isn't breathing very deeply. But they are going to work on getting him sitting up and moving a little then eating and drinking. When I left to he was sleeping normally instead of looking like he was in a drugged state.
What a huge relief.
When I hear the sound of water in the aquarium it means it is time to clean and refillWatching fish is hypnotic! That and the sound of water together... what a soothing thing that will be.
Wow, what a trial. FIL has had several UTIs lately in the full care facility at the retirement community. He has Parkinson's, still all there mentally. He doesn't get combative but just becomes a rag. When they figure it out and get antibiotics in he recovers to his current self. MIL thinks they might have been caused by the overnight external catheter (never knew there was such a thing) but he is against having an internal one.It was the UTI infection causing the behavior shift and combativeness.
