This is definitely true of mallards, but for sure not true of cottontail rabbits.Yup. Just like domesticated Mallards.
Haven't you heard the stories? So, Peter Cottontail wasn't domesticated?
I know. I tried more than once to raise baby cottontails that had lost a mom and were to young to be out on their own. They all refused to eat or drink in a cage. Had I had a large run and a nesting type area in a dark corner or better yet covered in potted plants or similar maybe they could have been saved. Food for thought but to late. If they are being raised somehow by clubs then I think F&G out to butt out and find a coffee shop and chill. This is definitely true of mallards, but for sure not true of cottontail rabbits.
Just a bunch of old biddies, gosspin.Haven't you heard the stories?
