Hi,

I've started composting my Christmas tree that's been sitting in my backyard since New Year's Day. I thought about saving some of the little branches for the babies to practice roosting on when they're a couple of weeks old. Is this a bad idea? Would it be ok to leave some of the pine needles on the branches for them to pick at or would I need to clean them off?

Thanks,
Becca

Yes. It should be fine! I think leaving the needles on wouldn't hurt anything because I put long pine needles in my nest boxes all the time.
