9 days ago my 2 year old Serama went lame. With all the deaths from Marek's we have had, I automatically presumed the worst.

I started her on colloidal silver and vitamins and cod liver oil. She did not get any worse, but she was still totally lame, and has to hop around.

Over the last two days, I think she has deteriorated in her health. She does not appear to be really interested in eating or drinking, and stays in the corner of the run. She can get about though, as she can get up and down the coop ramp at night and in the morning.

Help please :-(

I think its Marek׳s  I think that you must think euthanasia....sorry!
You must breed a new floc from the survivors! This is the best way for you if
You want to achieve a floc that can resist this awful disease.

I will see how she goes, but I will not let her suffer; in my experience they normally go completely lame or die really quickly in a matter of a day or two.

My chicken Annie went lame last spring, and I thought we would lose her to Marek's, but either she recovered or had just hurt her leg

I pray for Thelma to recover

Well Thelma is still with us; no better and no worse!

I can see nothing wrong with her leg and it doesn't hurt when I touch it; she can sort of move it, but not put weight on it

I am still giving her a small amount of ionic silver water, baby ibuprofen and vitamins every morning, so I am still praying for her recovery

My little cream Serama Bobby has got Marek's. He was hatched by my own Serema's in June 2014. I didn't think he was quite right over the last two weeks, and now he is stumbling and walking backwards, with a droopy wing. He should have had a natural immunity, but obviously not. For now he is eating and drinking, but I do not think he will be with us for long, and my heart is breaking. He is the only bird we have ever had from an egg.

I get really mad when I see forums saying that it isn't marek's as the birds are too old. Trust me it strikes birds at ANY age; vaccinated or not!!!
