2015 "Shark Snipers" Annual Chickenstock get together!!! Mark your calendars!

So lovely to meet/see you all! And thanks for the amazing birds...

The silkie mix and marans mix chicks AND the adorable easter egger I got from you guys too are all settled into their "foster" home with the two easter chicks I rescued a couple of weeks ago! If you think of it, can you remind me how old they all are? I believe the silkieX and maransX (from Tammy) are around 3-4 wks and the easter egger (from Caroline) is ~3 months? The two lighter/younger ameraucana chicks went to another "foster" home with some chicks I picked up at the NEBC show yesterday. :)

April, those wheaten ameraucanas are SO SWEET and their eggs are SO BLUE! I definitely would love to get more girls from you and your daughter whenever you are thinning out your flock, so let me know! (And we get our coops from a guy up that way, so could easily combine trips)

And jerseygirl - the Alsteirers are super neat. Not the best for some of my clients that are looking for more docile, kid-huggable birds, but great for folks who want something a little more unusual and have the space for them.

All-in-all SO MUCH FUN!

Thanks everyone - see you next time! :)

I am so glad it was successful for you all. I had a great time and the weather was awesome!

Thank you to all who came and all who helped!!!

Can't wait for the next one!

Could you post a picture of the eggs you are getting? Sam thinks she sold you her best blue layer in error. Nothing for it now, just curious.

Here's a picture of the egg (it's the one in the middle, with a big CCL egg at the bottom, a greenish EE egg to the bottom left, and a big Breda egg (white) above it for reference), and the hen in question. Out of the three I got from you, she's the only one laying so far, and this egg is just slightly less blue than the first she laid for me.

I'd be happy to trade her back to you for another young one (I want you guys to breed more awesome blue egg layers so I can get more birds from you later! :D), though I'd need to do it in the next week or so. Is there a day we could meet halfway somewhere? If you have any more young ones you're ready to sell I'd gladly take one or two more as well.

Just let me know. :)

We have a strick "no live birds in" policy for bio-security. I know she came from here, but you get what I mean. Thank you for the sweet offer. With 12 hens left Sam will continue to breed them. We continue to breed toward standard and dark blue egg color.

I wish you were closer, we could hatch those eggs. They should be fertile for a couple more days.

Thanks for the offer. We are hatching one more batch this spring that we set last night. You can check with me next month and i will let you know what comes.

Oh! I didn't even think about setting them! We put a dozen marans eggs from that swap under a broody and easily could have thrown another 1-2 in. Oh well.

Ok sounds good - I'll check in with you in a month or so!

Cheers!
