I have 10 young welsh harlequins. 5 drakes and 5 hens. I found 11 eggs in random places all over their pen today. Their first eggs. I've read that it's normal for them to lay all over. My question is, if they do this how will they go broody to hatch them. They're on a hill side so a lot of the eggs rolled down the hill. They have a coup but won't go in it. I can lock them up at night so maybe they'll lay in the morning before I let them out but i don't know if that will make them want to hatch. I'm not wanting them to go broody now, just informing myself for the future. Also their eggs were soft so I'm going to get them some oyster shells to eat. Any suggestions?
