How long before you help a pipped egg?(It's been 12 hours for 1 of the eggs). Also, 1st hatched chick pecking at newbie, let them figure it out or separate?

It can be upto 24 hours after external pip before they hatch so I personally would not jump in yet to help. I've just had one that was pipped for 23 hours before hatching, it hatched on its own and is a healthy chick. I'm not one for helping them you get far healthier chicks if they do the work for themselves. Each chick is individual.
Hatched ones do peck at the others, it's normal behaivour they should be fine it's how they learn.
